Directions:
9 Patch Block -
Cut (50) 3" squares assorted fabrics (If you also add the ones used in the Snowball Blocks, make a total of (90) 3" squares.)
Cut (40) 3" squares background fabric

Combine fabrics into 9 Patches, with 5 darks, and 4 lights in each block. (Centers will be dark.)

Or strip piece: Alternate 3" strips of your 2 fabrics (Light-Dark-Light, and Dark-Light-Dark). You will need twice as many of the DLD sets. Sew with 1/4" seam, press to the dark, and cross cut at 3". Join sets so LDL is in the middle. Snowball Block: Cut (10) 8" squares background fabric. Cut (40) 3" connector squares of assorted fabrics, if not already cut with those used in the 9 Patch Blocks

Place one connector square on each corner of the 8" square background fabric. Sew along the diagonals. Flip back and press. Cut away only the 'underside' of the connector square, leaving the background. Alternate a Snowball with a 9 Patch, forming rows. Join the rows.

Border One:
Cut (2) 1.5" x 38" (vertical)
Cut (2) 1.5" x 32.5" (horizontal)

Border Two:
Cut (2) 3.5" x 40" (vertical)
Cut (2) 3.5" x 38.5" (horizontal)

Attach the first border to the quilt top, (vertical first, then horizontal). Add second border in the same manner. Sandwich, baste, quilt and bind.
